Remember how I thought there might be a new TV series for the Lupin III fanchise? Well apparently it turned out to be another (the 24th actually) TV Movie instead. This time around it's called Lupin III: Blood Seal ~ Eternal Mermaid and it aired this last Friday in Japan. After a two year absence from the TV screen Blood Seal will return with a change in voice actors (the person who voiced Lupin passed away) and it will also mark the 40th anniversary of the Lupin III franchise. Takeshi Koike who directed Redline had a hand in the design of Blood Seal as well.
The trailer doesn't give a whole lot of things away so I don't know what to expect from this movie other than it should be pretty good even if he is stuck dragging another kid along for the ride.
No word if this is what they had in mind this year or if they were really working on a new series but my money is on the TV Movie only.
