Weekly Review

Well it's that time of the week again (it sure does seem to come faster on some weeks) for the Weekly Review.  The good news is that I had a very productive weekend. The not so good news I guess is that the week was a total wash.  It rained almost all week mother nature even tossed in a good couple hail storms as well.  Pretty cool (only because it was smaller hail so no damage) to watch really.  Of course thanks to the rain and boring work did get a lot of anime watched this last week even got my age corrected on FUNimation's site so I watch mature programming there finally.  But let's look at what I did this last week.

We'll just skip over the same old same old work week because yeah nothing happened and head to Friday.  Which was cool because we finally got our Direct Deposit so that meant I didn't have to freaking wake up early to head into work to pick up my check so I could deposit it.  Greatest thing ever.  It also meant I got to work on my car a day earlier than I had planned. 

So here's what I did this weekend.  After waking up I got the car in the garage and started ripping out the power steering because even though it worked it was a mess. It was leaking everywhere and making  huge mess in the engine bay and probably even caused some issues with some electrical parts. It actually didn't take to long to take out the entire system and I ended up with a loss of 12lbs to the car.  Not to bad. After that I started in on the thermostat which I believed to be bad as the car was over heating at stoplights when I didn't have the heat on.  Because the car had power steering I ran into a small issue getting the lower hose off.  The bolt hole from the engine block was right in the way of an easy on and off.  Instead you had to jiggle the damn thing on and off.  Rather annoying really but I'm about 99% sure I got it back on correctly.  After finishing up on that I took the car outside and gave it a good washing as I was planning on taking some pictures of the car in the morning.  And I did exactly that taking it for it's first drive without power steering.  It wasn't bad and I'll definitely get used to it more and more.  You can see the new pictures here -- Project Jetta.  The newest pictures are at the end.

Took some pictures and I was done for the day or so I thought. I've been thinking of getting a K&N airfilter for the car as it's getting to be that time to replace the one I bought when I first got the car.  And I found out that the original airbox is really restrictive so did a bit of modding and opened up the airbox a bit more.  After that was finished though I was able to relax a little on Sunday until the roommate got home and we headed out to take some more pictures of his car as he had just recently added some new vinyl graphics to his car.  You can see the pictures of the RX-8 here -- Mazda RX-8.  The newest pictures are at the end.

And with that my weekend was over I crashed out early and yeah started the next week at 4am thanks to the dog waking me up while he was playing with his toy.  Watched some good videos this week.  Found some good RWB ones too.
