Yes! That's what I thought when K-on! The movie popped up on the interwebs last week and I watched it a soon as I could. And I loved it. Seriously when I heard about the movie I was thrilled and after I watched it I can only say that the movie is a great ending to a much loved series. The girls celebrating their graduation and wanting to give something back to their Junior decide that they need to take a trip and in the process write Azusa a goodbye song. In very K-on! fashion they decide to head to England.
Knowing the girls much moe-blob gushy goodness happens as the girls take in the sites and sounds of England while working on the song for Azusa, she grows just a bit suspicious of the girls in the process. In many of the mini adventures the girls get roped into playing at a sushi place as they are mistaken for another Japanese girl band. Thanks to that though they are also asked to play at a cultural festival to celebrate Japanese pop culture in England. Even their Teacher shows up to wish them well and help keep them on track to get back home.
The girls had fun in England but Azusa still wonders what the rest of them are up to but everything is revealed to her and all is right in the world. I loved the movie and can't wait until it gets a release here in the states. I'm still waiting for a budget release of the series so I can get that as well. I normally don't like moe-blob stuff but damn I couldn't help but like this series and the movie was just a great endcap to the series.
And don't worry music fans there is plenty of new stuff to enjoy in the movie I loved the first bit of the movie where they are faking it to Sky High.
Here's the trailer.
